38 weeks on Wednesday and still no signs of Audrey making her appearance. Yes, I know it's "good" for her to stay in there, and bake up nice and healthy (and big.) But this mama was almost a 9 pound baby, as was my husband. So as great as her growing is, I really don't want to push out a 9 pound baby if it can be avoided.
These days she still does a good amount of big movements. The newest development is fairly severe back pain for the last week. The doctor (and I) believe this is because of the way she is positioned. I'm trying to keep my pelvis tilted forward to help keep her off my back, but it's not a very comfortable way to sit. Accordingly, each night ends with a nice back rub from Jay until I fall soundly asleep. He now wakes up when I attempt to roll over to my other side due to my heavy breathing, but falls right back asleep once he sees I'm okay.
My in-law's came over last weekend and helped me finish Audrey's room as well as build/install our new head/footboard from Ikea. Our bed was sliding around a lot so now it's trapped between the two and much more comfortable.
Last weekend I was part of Soiree Amore. A few months ago, a group of local crafters (including myself) got together to put on small craft events in people's homes. Our last event was in Olympia with part of the proceeds benefiting the Fund for Women and Girls. See Katie's blog for details on Soiree Amore and Soiree Noel (held in December.)
