Week 26

With a few days left of "Week 26," I thought I'd highlight some of Audrey's assumed developments these past few weeks.

Her approximate size is 1.5-2.0 pounds, and should be around 14 inches. She gains roughly half a pound a week.

Right now, Audrey has more taste buds than she will ever have. This means she'll taste the Oreo's and milk I just had, and hopefully enjoy them as much as I did. (Yes, I know I'm supposed to watch my sugar intake, but I only had a 6-pack.)

According to some sources, she has now developed distinct periods of sleeping and waking. Based on her activity the past two weeks, I would agree. She goes for what seems like a few hours without much/any movement, to times where I think she's headlining a musical inside my stomach.
Her hearing has developed a lot so I try to play music as much as possible to get her used to noise. I don't know if she's prepared for her two four-legged brothers when she's born. (Nor are they ready for her.)

In the next few weeks, if it hasn't happened already, her eyes will begin to open. Nothing too exciting to see where she's living, but another great sign of her amazing development and God's creation.

We start our birthing class in two weeks and are excited (and a little anxious.) Decorating her room as come to a temporary halt due to the holidays, but will pick back up in a few weeks.
Thanks for all the kind words about me and my preggo stomach. Sometimes I find the look endearing, and others, frustrating. I promise to update with pictures every few weeks.
